Things to be on the look out for!

  • Pink Pyrex, mainly refrigerator dishes and the mixing bowls
  • Turquoise Pyrex
  • Visionware

On eBay tonight, There was a few deals to be bought. A few sets of Primary color mixing bowls went pretty cheap compared to others; I think this was because it was a Saturday night. This is a few pieces that are ending soon that should be interesting to watch. The most interesting I see is item 250285258845 It is for a set of blue refrigerator dishes with no bids, Which I am surprised,

I will be posting pictures soon of some of my recent finds I found a nice set of pink rimmed dinnerware, plates, bowls, saucers, and cups, Plus a few divided casserole dishes.

I know its been a while, But I am going to make the best effort ever to update daily, with new posts. Also there is a forum coming soon. I am going to go back to putting up recent eBay sales, and what I think was a steal, or the deal of the day.

I follow Pyrex, Corning, Corelle, and Fire King on a daily basis. These are just my own personal feelings on the items.

I will also be adding a pattern reference guide. It will be showing how the patterns look on the different pieces, this will make it easier for people to match there pattern easier.

One of the most common places to show the wide variety of pricing is the Primary Color Mixing Bowls, they vary in price, one of the keys I have noticed when selling on eBay, is the keywords, and the end time of the auction. I will get more into this in later posts

But you can find some Pyrex bowl sets, that sell for 25.00 and they go all the way to 70 dollars, which is a huge margin. I have seen several people selling these and not knowing what they have. With this said, this is going to be part of what I blog about daily, what items I see have a large spread, and also I will be posting an item, that is currently on eBay, that is either unique, or neat, or just what ever I happen to like that day.

Pyrex and Ebay

April 30, 2008

I apologize for being so long since my last post. I will be doing updates A LOT more often. I will be trying to keep up with what I find, and what prices are on eBay for most Pyrex.

So be prepared to see a bunch of new stuff coming!

Ok, now onto my first Pyrex and eBay blog.

This week the top selling eBay pieces for the Pyrex category was some pink refrigerator dishes that were in the original packaging. These topped out at 242.50, one of the huge helping factors was the original box, and labels. You can find nice pink refrigerator dishes for around, 75-90 dollars, or if your willing to piece them together even less than that. The pink pattern is not the easiest to come by from what I see on a weekly basis. The thrift shops, antique malls, and other stores like this seem to have very little of them. Also if you watch eBay, you will notice that the large dish is the one that is the most difficult to find. The price on this set has gone up inch by inch all the time, and just continues to go up.

Crazy Daisy Pattern
This is still a very popular pattern and usually can be found in everyones house, or at least a friends house. This pattern is one of the most reasonable to pick up, with the exception to a few pieces. Some of the utensils, place mats, and tumblers command very high price tags. But to show a comparison a set of refrigerator dishes just like the pink ones that sold for 242.50, just sold in the crazy daisy pattern for 34.55 in the original box. This just shows some of the differences in the collect ability of the old Pyrex and the prices it will bring.

Here is a picture of the set from eBay of the Crazy Daisy Set, I think he would of been able to get a higher price if the pictures were done a little differently. But I would say it was a very good bye at less than 35.00

MIB Crazy Daisy Set

Well these weekend I went to around 5 antique malls and auctions and flea markets. Since I am trying to only buy some of the things I really want I only picked up 1 thing. I found a set of the white dishs with the pink band, They were in pretty good shape. The best part is they were only $8 dollars for the set of 4 cups, 4 saucers, 4 bowls, and 4 dinner plates. I was like wow I MUST by these.

I seen a lot of the crazy daisy coming up for sale this year. I have seen more casserole dishes, divided dishes, and plates than any 1 person could imagine, the prices have DEFIANTLY gone up since last time I paid close attention to this pattern. I personally like the pattern as you can find it in about any of the homes in America. It was amazingly popular, The mixing bowls are becoming a little harder to come by.

I will post pictures of the find tomorrow after I get it all unpacked.

Well Today I picked up a few refrigerator dish’s I seen at the thrift store. I try to hit the stores every day or other day on my lunch breaks. I picked these up for .50 cents each, they had the lids even, there was 2 of the small ones and 1 of the medium size ones. They have GREAT color, and in amazing shape, I personally do not think this is the best of the Pyrex patterns, But at .50 cents how do you go wrong. I also picked up a Verde bowl, I will post pictures of it tomorrow.

As for value the Pyrex collector books say one thing, I personally have many of the books, But I want to know what the value is if I sold them now, I hit around 10-15 antique malls a month, and I sell on eBay for a living, so I follow all the markets and use my best judgment. So I will put what I feel is the current Ebay value, as what you would expect to get out of these if you placed them for sale there.

Ebay value should be between 4-7 dollars each for the small ones and 6-10 for the medium sized one. Your going to get a better result and a better chance of selling them if you sell them all together.

Thrift Shop Today

October 30, 2007

Today I hit my usual thrift stores on the way to the office. I have a regular routine as shops sort on the weekends. And most people are happy to see me, many know I will clean them out of pyrex, fire king, corelle, and corning. I usually buy about anything because they make me such a wonderful deal, I found these which I was happy to find.

These are very nice, in great shape, I will prolly hold onto these, I am starting to get my collection out to sell some off. I also found some more pieces I will list more tomorrow.

Welcome, to the begining

October 25, 2007

Hello,

I created this site because of my love of glassware, and this is for all my Pyrex collectors, and people who follow my auctions.

A little about me I am 24yrs old, and have been collecting for a couple years now. On average I try to pickup 5-10 pieces a week. I have a pretty nice collection, I will be sharing pictures as I start to unpack it after my move.

I have some rare pieces, and some common ones, my favorite would be my toilet ball float valve, just because or its rarity and obscurity.

I will be posting more everyday, I plan on the share my thoughts, and try to share some of the pieces I find, and hope to help everyone any way I can.

Thanks
